The FA is evolving its coach education to be player-centred around the four-corner model of learning and the theory of ‘Long Term Player Development’. The four corners cover learning from a technical, physiological, physical and social viewpoint. This is very impotant when trying to develop a player according to Fa Level 2 Handbook (2012:61) ''The four corner model allows a flexible framework for the development of the player and the coach at all levels and stages.''This shows that the four corner model can be used with any age group, because its easy to follow and the players will understand what they are being told straight away so the coach will not waste any time during their session which happens alot when players do not understand. From the image on the right you can see the different sections of the four coner model, Red looks at the Technical side of the game so attacking and defending principles. Green looks at psychological so enthusiasm, confidence and learning of the player. Yellow looks at the physical side of the player so their ABC'S Agility, Balance and Coordination along side speed, catching, passing, kicking and jumping. And finally Blue which looks at the Social side of the player where they are enjoying the session and getting something out of it.
